 Prizes and awards


F.A. Perkins Prize
The fund for these two prizes was established as a tribute to Frederick Athol Perkins, first lecturer in entomology (1926), first Head of the Department of Entomology (1952) and a founder of the Entomological Society of Queensland. Contributions to the fund (approximately $1,500) were made on his retirement in 1965 by his past and present students, his entomological and University collegues and other friends

Junior prize - Any student in Entomology is eligible for this prize. It is awarded to the student showing greatest proficiency in the first attempt at Level 2 Entomology courses. The Prize is books to the value of $100.00

Senior Prize - Any student enrolled for at least 50 credit points of third level Entomology subjects is eligible for this prize. It is awarded to the student showing greatest proficiency in third level Entomology subjects. The Prize is books to the value of $250.00

 

The R. and A.E. Veitch Prize
This prize was estabilshed in 1974 by a bequest of $2,000 from the late Robert Veitch as a memorial to his wife Alice Esmee Veitch and to himself. The prize is awarded in alternate years. Any student in a Faculty other than Agricultural Science is eligible for this prize. It is awarded to the student showing greatest proficiency, since the last award of the prize, in ENTM2011. The recipient of this prize receives money.
