The School of Integrative Biology at The University of Queensland is situated on the St Lucia campus in Brisbane and is part of the Faculty of Biological and Chemical Sciences.

We are in a unique geographical position for major research in the tropical-subtropical environment. Staff in our School conduct research over a broad spectrum: evolution, ecology, behaviour, physiology, pathology, genomics, biotechnology, development and genetics of animals and plants.

The School plays a major role in The University of Queensland's Ecology Centre and ARC Centre of Excellence for Integrative Legume Research. The School also participates in the activities of the Centre for Marine Studies, the Cooperative Research Centre for Sugar Industry Innovation through Biotechnology (CRC SIIB), the Cooperative Research Centre for Tropical Rainforest Ecology and Management and the Centre for Biological Information Technology.

The School's strong research profile is evident in our teaching, which covers most areas of plant and animal biology and spans both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We also deliver a number of internet-based remote courses through the Entomology Program. Various opportunities exist within the School for international and study abroad students to take courses and be involved with ongoing research.
